I don’t use fragrance just to make things smell nice. Every essential oil in this lotion is chosen intentionally—for its traditional uses and the way it works with the rest of the blend.

This tallow lotion is made the way things used to be: simple, intentional, and with ingredients you can actually recognize. Crafted in small batches using grass-fed beef tallow, arrowroot powder, golden cold-pressed jojoba oil, and pure orange, rosemary, and lavender essential oils, it moisturizes and softens skin without synthetic fillers, preservatives, or additives.
 
Why Whipped?
Tallow is wonderful, but straight tallow can be firm and a little stubborn to get out of the jar. I whipped this lotion so you can just scoop it. Whipping turns that dense, rich base into something soft and fluffy that comes right out with a fingertip, with no digging and no chipping away. It spreads easily over hands, arms, and legs, so it’s as simple to use as it is to love. It’s the same simple ingredients, with nothing added but air.
 
Why Grass-Fed Beef Tallow?
Tallow is rendered beef fat, traditionally used in skin care. It contains a small amount of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, along with fatty acids like stearic and oleic acid that are also found in your skin’s natural oils. I choose grass-fed, pasture-raised tallow because fat from grass-fed cattle tends to be higher in omega-3 fatty acids, CLA, and vitamin E than fat from grain-fed cattle. It’s a simple, time-tested ingredient that moisturizes and helps keep skin feeling soft.
 
Why Golden Jojoba Oil?
Jojoba isn’t actually an oil—it’s a liquid plant wax, and its structure is very similar to the natural oils your skin makes for itself. That’s why it absorbs so easily without leaving a greasy film, helping skin feel soft and supple rather than heavy. I use golden, unrefined, cold-pressed jojoba oil, which is minimally processed and keeps its naturally occurring vitamin E.
Jojoba and tallow are a natural pair. Tallow brings rich, lasting moisture, while jojoba adds lightweight, fast-absorbing moisture and a silky glide. Together, they leave skin feeling moisturized without a heavy or waxy feel.
 
Why Arrowroot Powder?
Arrowroot is a soft, natural starch made from the root of the arrowroot plant. In this lotion, it gives the tallow a smooth, silky body and reduces any greasy feel, so the lotion absorbs without a slick, oily finish. It’s gentle, plant-based, and a simple alternative to synthetic thickeners—one more ingredient you can actually recognize.
